All League Games will be played according to the following rules:

  1. Unless otherwise noted below, the league will follow the 10th Edition of the UPA Rules of Ultimate.
  2. The league is a coed league. Teams MUST have at least TWO players of each gender on the field at all times. Whenever possible the team on offence (receiving the huck) should choose the gender ratio (i.e. 4 women, 3 men) and the team on defense should match. Keep in mind that if a team has only 2 or 3 men or women, then this will not always work, but please work hard to get all your players on the field as much as possible!
  3. Games must start by 6:30 PM. Team captains may assess 1 point for every 5 minutes that their opponent cannot field a team. If a team cannot field at least 5 players by 6:45, the game is forfeit. Forfeits will be recorded with a score of 15-0 for league standing and playoff seeding purposes.
  4. Games start with each of the team captains flipping a disc. One captain will call 'odd' or 'even'. If both discs land face up or face down, they are even, or if one lands face up and one lands face down, they are odd. The winning captain has first choice of one of the following:
    a) deciding which endzone to defend first, or
    b) deciding to receive or huck the disc first.
The opposing captain may then choose whichever of a) or b) remains available.
The second half begins with an automatic reversal of the initial choices.
  5. All games are played to 15 points with a 5 minute halftime after one team reaches 8 points.
  6. Each team is entitled to one 70 second time out per half.
  7. All games must end with a winner declared. If darkness becomes a factor then team captains must agree to how the game will be ended. If a decision cannot be reached before darkness then each captain will flip a disc as in rule 4 .
  8. Two mutually agreeing captains may decide on specific rules or exceptions for a game. This includes rescheduling a league game. The league director should be informed at least 24 hours in advance that a game will be rescheduled.
  9. There is no limit to the number of players per team, however each team may only have 7 on the field at any give time, and must have at least 5 on the field at all times.
  10. Captains are responsible for reporting game scores to the league director. Scores not reported to the league director will be recorded as forfeits.
  11. Each player must have participated in at least five regular season games in order to be eligible to play in league playoff games.
  12. For the purposes of our regular season league games, dropping the pull is OK!! Keep in mind that this may not always be the case if you go and play in another league or in a tournament somewhere....
